Big changes (and new posts!) are on the horizon! Teaser: sustained reflections upon the discussions of a gaggle of religious studies grad students sandwiched into a back corner of a little pub....
I'm currently a first year graduate student in an MA program at Claremont School of Theology (or Claremont Lincoln, depending on certain factors).
Radical existentialist Christian mystic. Throw libertarian in there, if it works for you.
My current focus is in the history of spirituality, limited to early to medieval Christianity for the sake of a manageable scope. Particularly, I'm interested in epistemology, embodied spirituality, asceticism, devotion, and devotional literature.
Peripherally, I'm interested in the intersection between science and religion, or even the ways that scientific and scientific-philosophical frameworks can help us understand mystical experience.
My superficial (read: non-academic) interests include general geekery, Sci-Fi, historical fiction, and BEER.
